I use my fourth period conference to answer email, grade papers, work on lesson plans and meet with parents or guardians who have scheduled a meeting.  To schedule a meeting, please contact Diana Vibrock to schedule a meeting at least one day in advance of your visit.

This web page is always under construction and will change often; refresh your screen for the most recent updates.

Working together, we'll make it a year to remember.

Students sometimes move to CMS later in the school year.  I've kept this list of things to know on the first day of school for new students.

I.  Know your schedule:  Textbook details
Your book will be kept at home since that's where you'll finish your weekly reading assignments.  CMS will issue your textbook.  Make certain you are issued the correct book for your class.

Grade 7 Accelerated Earth Science
Accelerated science students will study Earth Science topics, and should be issued the 8th grade Glencoe Earth Science textbook.  It has a red orange background with a classic photo of Palo Duro Canyon on its cover.

Grade 7 Pre AP Life Science
Pre AP students will study Life Science topics, and should be issued the 7th grade Glencoe Science textbook.  It has a green background and a mountain lion apparently being chased by a lightning storm.

II.  Know how best to contact your family by email.  Some of our family email addresses need updating.  I'd like to collect contact information from each student on the first day of school.

III. Know how to relax.  Everyone else is just as nervous and excited about the first day as you may be.  No one will remember what you wore to school on the first day because they're most likely focused on what they're wearing!  Together we'll create another great year at CMS.  Put your best foot forward, work hard and have fun!

IV.  Know the rules: See Policies & Procedures

Here's a link to the original web page. http://www.gcisd.net/%7Eheather.foote/hck/, although it will no longer be updated. It was fun while it lasted, and received nearly 30,000 hits in just 3 years. This district is taking it down soon to make way for the new schoolwires webpage system.
