Congratulations to the debate team for their successes this past weekend. Competing in the St. Mark's Heart of Texas Invitational against teams from Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Alabama, the Varsity Public Forum team of Miranda Nutt and Marina Leventis won the tournament. The team of Alina Shivji and Aleena Jamal were in the semifinals. Aleena, Alina, and Miranda were named the first, second, and third speakers respectively.

At the Arlington HS Colt Classic, Eesha Charaniya was an octofinalist in the Varsity Lincoln Douglas division. In their first competitions, Ansha Dewani and Anna Su were octofinalists in the Novice Lincoln Douglas division. Daniel Li was a quarterfinalist in that division as well.

Overall, a great performance by both our varsity and novice debaters. Congratulate these young people when you see them.
