    ¡Hola Amigos!

I am the Spanish I teacher at CTMS.  This will be my 10th year here at CTMS.  This will be my 18th year as a teacher.  Time flies when you are having fun!  I have taught all levels of French and Spanish over the years.  I am super excited to also be a part of AVID.  This will be my second year as an AVID elective teacher.  I will be teaching the AVID elective for 7th grade. Before I came to Grapevine Colleyville ISD.  I was at Coppell High School for 8 years.  I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and one in French in 1999.  I am certified to teach both French and Spanish grades 6-12.  I have a beautiful daughter named Isabella, who is 11 years old.  She will be a 6th grader here at CTMS this year.  I cannot wait to teach her how to be a wolf!  I love the Grapevine/Colleyville area and am a super proud member of this community.  I look forward to getting to know all of my students this year!

    Background and Educational Philosophy

I truly believe that learning a foreign language is so important.  It is so much more than just learning a language; it is learning another culture, another way of life.  In today’s global society it is so important to make our students aware of other cultures.  It is so important to know that the world is an amazing place and so many other countries have so many beautiful things to offer.  Diversity is the key to life; it makes our world go round.  That is why I teach foreign language.  I always try my best to make it fun and hands on.  We do lots of role-playing and real life situations.  “What would you do at the airport in Mexico?” “How would you order a meal in Spain?”  It is also important to learn how to read and write the language as well!  If your child can walk away from my class with an awareness of another culture and some key phrases for survival than I feel as though I have been successful!
