The Bear Creek Fun Run is here!  This is the PTA Fundraiser for the 2015-2016 school year.  The proceeds will go towards outdoor upgrades for the Bear Creek campus.  Each BCE Scholar will benefit from daily lessons about building character through sports.  Scholars will be introduced to REAL kid-athletes in other cultures who play with REAL character.
How can you help?  Go online to funrun.com and register your scholar.  School Code is 224-145. Ask your scholar about the character lesson each evening.  Help secure pledges or donations to support Bear Creek.  Every scholar will run in the fun run on Wednesday, September 23rd, come watch and support your child and Bear Creek!

  • Attendance

GCISD has received notice from the Tarrant County District Attorney that changes have been made regarding truancy laws that will impact students and families. Beginning September 1, 2015, a student failing to attend school is no longer considered a criminal act; however, if the school determines that a child has committed truant conduct, the school may refer to child to truancy court for civil charges and/or file a criminal complaint against the parent. The court defines truant conduct as someone who is required to attend school and fails to attend 10 or more days of school within a six-month period. To read the notice by the Tarrant County District Attorney, click here. If you have any questions about the changes in the law, please contact Marina Flores at 817-251-5325.

    Lost and Found
Parents as the weather gets cooler students are brining extra clothing, i.e. jackets, hats and gloves which get left behind.  To help with these missing items please write your childs name inside of your students clothing.  This helps us identify who the clothing items belong to and we can return them to the students.  We do have a lost and found location beside the cafeteria to hold unidentified items.  Please have your child check for missing items or you can come and check anytime.  Thank you for your help with this.

     Standard Response Protocol
The district implements security protocols at every school and facility.  We conduct regular safety and security drills to best prepare our students and staff members for potential emergency situations, developed for out district and based on nationally-recognized practices.  The district has implemented a Standard Response Protocol for students and staff across the district.  Protocols are attached and we also have posters around our campus to remind students and staff of these procedures.  While we hope we never need them, it is important for us to have these procedures in place in case a situation does arise.
