Weather Updates

  • Friday Weather Update - Early Dismissal

Due to deteriorating winter weather conditions, high school and middle school students are being dismissed early from school today. Release times are 11:30 a.m. for high school (buses) and 12:15 p.m. for middle school, and 1 p.m. for elementary school. High school drivers will be released at 11:15 a.m., in advance of the buses. Buses will run regular routes on the early release schedule. Parents are welcome to pick up their child at any time. The KidzU after-school care program will be available until 4 p.m. today at all elementary campuses. If conditions worsen, KidzU personnel will contact parents directly to discuss an earlier pick up.
Additionally, after-school activities for Friday, February 27, and into Saturday morning, February 28, have been cancelled. If conditions improve throughout the day on Saturday, GCISD personnel will discuss the possibility of continuing these activities. Please check our event rescheduling page for updates on cancelled events. We will work as quickly as possible to reschedule these events and will communicate changes through our sponsors, schools and on the district and school websites. Thank you and please drive safely. • Mrs. Claus Makes a Special Visit
We were so surprised to learn that Kindergarten had a visitor waiting for us in the library this morning.  Apparently, Santa feels the kids have been very well behaved and he sent Mrs. Claus to read us some books and answer a few questions. She also enjoyed hearing about all of the antics Santa's elves are up to these days!   We really enjoyed her time with us.

  • Snuggle Up and Read
As you walked the halls of Bransford Elementary you could see children and their parents relaxing in their pajamas and enjoying a good book.  Every once in a while you would hear a chuckle as a student came to an amusing part in their story.  Children could be seen bustling the hallways and moving from room to room to listen to the animated stories the CHHS Theatre Department were there to share.  Teachers pushed carts of milk and cookies up and down the halls for all to enjoy.  The sounds and movement through the halls were a delightful reminder of the joy that can be found in a good book.  The annual event was enjoyed by all and many students are looking forward to next year!

  •  Midway Games
4th grade just finished designing and creating their very own midway games! After reading to learn about the Texas State Fair, students designed their own midway game and built a working model to share with their class. Students applied critical thinking and problem solving skills to build a game that would work and be enjoyable for others to play. Wow! What creative games we were able to enjoy! Here is a sample of the games that students in Mrs.Chapman's fourth grade class created!

  • Go Mustangs!
We hope to see you Friday night at feeder night at the GHS v. Weatherford game! With six minutes remaining in the FIRST quarter, we invite elementary students who are future Mustangs and a parent to make their way down to the south end of the stadium near the scoreboard. There, students will check in with the Communications Department (wearing red polos and headsets) and the future Mustangs will be recognized in the end zone in between the first and second quarters! Please help us in making this recognition a smooth and memorable experience for all involved! Go Mustangs! Don't forget to wear your Bransford shirt!
