Spanish Teacher, SLE/CAN

¡Hola! I  have been a Spanish teacher here at SilverLake for 11 years. I graduated from the University of Colorado with an International Business degree and a minor in languages (Spanish and French). Before becoming a teacher, I worked as an Immigration Officer for the Department of Justice at the DFW airport.
I believe  it’s wonderful that GCISD has this program for your children because at this age they pick up on language learning so quickly and easily.  Our economy is global and it is becoming a necessity to be multilingual in the work force.  I feel very priviledged that I have the opportunity to expose your children to the Spanish language and cultures.  They have been a joy to teach and I look forward to coming to school each and everyday!
Besides teaching, I love to  travel and have travelled throughout the U.S, Europe, Mexico, the Caribbean, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Argentina and recently hiked the Inca Trails of Machu Picchu, Peru! I have two boys, Joshua 18, and Zackary, 15.   In my free time, I love to instant message Josh at the US Merchant Marine Academy, NY and watch Zack play rugby or football. I also workout at the gym, dance with my friends, read, walk and of course travel. Every 9 weeks I switch from Silver Lake to Cannon.
