My husband, Cameron, and I married in September of 2002. We have a wonderful son that will enter fifth grade this year. He attends Silver Lake and is in the Dual Language program. My family lives in Keller. When I'm away from Silver Lake, I love to spend time with my sweet family. We enjoy traveling (especially to Disney destinations), going on local adventures, frequenting our favorite restaurants and relaxing in our pool.

What year did you come to Silver Lake Elementary School?
I joined the Silver Lake Elementary School family in 2002.

How long have you worked in education?
The 2017-2018 school year allows me to celebrate my 24th year as a teacher.  Each fabulous year has been spent inside a classroom in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD.  I started my teaching career at Timberline Elementary where I taught for one year.  As my first year of teaching came to a close, I was selected to help open Glenhope Elementary where I taught for seven years.  I moved to Silver Lake Elementary in 2002 and became a Shooting Star.

Where did you get your degree?
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Minnesota State University Moorhead.  Go Dragons!

What is a favorite memory related to school?
When I was just a little girl, I dreamed of becoming a teacher.  I spent all of my time playing school.  I turned my playroom into my very own classroom.  My dolls, stuffed animals, sister and brother were my students.  My teachers knew of my future aspirations so they would allow me to take home extra "ditto copies" and workbooks to use in my classroom.

What motivates you to do what you do as a teacher each and everyday?
I love my job!  The sparkle I see in each student's eyes when something new is learned or discovered is very rewarding The progress made in one school year is tremendous and I love being a part of it!
