• Susan Cook This school year begins my 18th year in education and my 6th at Heritage Middle School.  I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Tarleton State University in Stephenville. I have taught all subjects in 3rd or 4th grade self-contained classrooms.

I am a native Texan who was one of six children raised just northeast of here in Greenville, Texas.  My husband and I have made our home in at least half a dozen other Texas cities not including cities in three other states in our 43 year marriage. My husband served six years in the U.S. Air Force and has his pharmacy degree from the University of Texas.  He is the pharmacy manager at the Texas Oncology clinic in Grapevine. We have one daughter (also a TSU grad) who works as a Probation Officer in Hill County.  Our granddaughter is a sophomore in college this year. Our "son" is an three year old Australian Shepherd who loves to take walks and catch Frisbees.

We returned to the DFW area six years ago to be closer to our families after living in Tomball, Texas the past nine years.   We enjoy being active in our local Triumph car club and participating in local/regional/national events.  We are currently building another Triumph from 10,000 parts.  I am also an active member of the Captain Molly Corbin Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution in Grapevine and enjoy genealogical research.

I love working as an Instructional Assistant and being semi-retired.  I was honored to be selected Paraprofessional of the Year for HMS 2014-2015.  I also received the PTA Friend of Children Award for the 2013-2014 school year.  The students and faculty at Heritage make coming to work each day a real joy.  Susan Cook Special Education Paraprofessional Contact Info:   susan.cook@gcisd.net 817-305-4790
