• Welcome back to the 2017-2018 school year!
I'm so excited to be teaching at Colleyville Heritage High School.  This is my fifth year at CHHS teaching in the RISE program (formerly Life Skills).  CHHS is a wonderful school with caring and dedicated staff.  My family and I have been in Texas for five years.  We moved here from the island of Kauai, HI.  I taught special education there for seven years.  Prior to moving to Kauai, I taught in Minnesota, where I grew up, for ten years.  I have been teaching special education students for over 20 years because it is my passion and purpose in life.  I can't imagine doing anything else as my life's work.

I have an undergraduate degree from St. Cloud State University in MN where I double majored in Special Education and  Early Childhood/ECSE.  I also have a Masters Degree in education from St. Mary's University of Minnesota where I studied brain research and best educational practices.  I am married and have one son, Ryder, who is eight.  We live in Lantana, TX.

I believe in challenging my students to be the best and brightest they can be.  The rigor of my classroom is high, and your children will be challenged every day.  I strongly believe in students taking personal responsibility for their learning and will do my best to foster this in your children.

I look forward to working with you and your child this school year! Have a wonderful year and please contact me if you need anything.
