    Education:

I am currently working on a Doctorate in Educational Leadership.  I received my Master's degree in Curriculum Development and Instructional Strategies from the University of Phoenix.  I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Childhood and Special Education from the State University of New York College at Geneseo.

    Experience:

I have 10 years of professional experience working with students with special needs.  Before coming to Silver Lake, I was employed in a private special education school named Mary Cariola Children's Center, which is located in Rochester N.Y.  Prior to working there I worked for other private agencies that assist individuals with special needs.

At the end of the 2012-2013 school year I worked as a long-term substitute here at Silver Lake, and this is my fifth full year teaching at this school.  I am beyond excited to have this opportunity to work with such amazing and talented students!  I look forward to seeing a few familiar faces, but also being able to make many new friends!

    Hobbies and Interests:

FOOTBALL AND BASEBALL!!!  I moved to the great state of Texas from New York, so I am a true blue NY Giants and Yankees fan!  My family and friends mean the world to me, so when I am not here at school I try to spend as much time with them as possible!  I'm Italian so I LOVE to cook and bake, and make a mean pot of red sauce (or as it is called in my family "gravy").  You can also find me reading, watching movies, or doing yoga.  I love to travel and enjoy just getting away for a weekend as often as possible.  My family is located all around the country so there are lots of destinations for me to hit!

    Philosophy of Education:

My teaching experience has been geared toward empowering ALL children to learn and succeed.  Every student regardless of race, gender, socio-economic or disability status has the potential to make a tremendous mark on this world.  I believe that it is my job to create a safe, nurturing environment in which young minds can grow into responsible, independent and successful individuals.
