Reichstag in Legos
    Herzlich Willkommen!

I am Caren Crandall and am excited to be here at Colleyville Heritage High School teaching German Levels I- IV.

This is my third year at CHHS so this year marks my 22 year teaching.

My appreciation of everything German came in college, when I had the opportunity to study and live in Austria. There was nothing better than exploring the cities, talking to and interacting with the people and  heading into Vienna on the weekends for an evening of the opera or ballet or on an outing along the Danube (which unfortunately isn’t blue), running or biking in the Wienerwald (Vienna forest) or sampling some delicious Wiener Schnitzel or Viennese pastries. Living among the Austrians was a life-changing experience for me and I learned to appreciate different cultures and traditions.
I enjoy traveling and visiting not only other countries, but our wonderful USA. This summer my husband and two children drove through the landscapes and fields of  amber grains in Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska as we made our way to the Black Hills of Custer, South Dakota and Mt Rushmore. We were amazed at its vastness, learned all about the monument's history, and came away with a deeper appreciation of our country and those who spent their lives creating and defending it and our constitution. It was a fabulous adventure.
I look forward to a great year, with new and returning students.
    Also, lernen wir Deutsch!
