Mrs. Nikki Cook
I am excited to start my 5th year teaching in GCISD as one of the 4 GHS RISE teachers. I previously worked one year as a teacher in the GCISD Transition program and then served as the Assistant Camp Director at Camp Summit, a non-profit overnight camp for individuals of all ages with special needs. I love working with this population of students and know that I have the best job in the world!
I just celebrated my third wedding anniversary; we have one dog, one cat, and a sweet baby boy (Bradley). My husband and I live here in the DFW area and enjoy traveling, spending time with family, volunteering at our church, and boating on Lake Grapevine.
I graduated with my bachelor's degree from The University of North Texas in interdisciplinary studies and earned my teaching certificates in EC-4 generalist and EC - 12 special education in 2004. I recently graduated with my master's degree (also from North Texas) in educational leadership and earned my principal's certificate. I am a life-long learner and enjoy growing my professional knowledge wherever I can and am participating in GCISD's VALOR program this school year where I will invite other teachers from around the into my classroom to see what I am doing and give me feedback on where I can grow as a teacher.
