    Originally from Plymouth, England, Rachel moved to Texas during her secondary years and graduated from Creekview HS in Carrollton, TX. Rachel holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Music Education from East Texas Baptist University where she studied with James Moore.

    During her time at ETBU, Rachel participated in a three year music internship at Central Baptist Church with Donald Parks where she was given the opportunity to assist and tour nationally with the Youth and Senior adult choirs.

    Rachel came to CHHS from Central JH in HEBISD where she directed all seven choirs. Under her direction the choirs at Central continued their longstanding tradition of excellence.  Previously, Rachel spent two years at Turner HS where she assisted with the varsity choirs and directed the non-varsity women's choirs. Under her direction, the Turner Non-Varsity Women made marked improvement and received their first sweepstakes in over five years. She also created and directed a Women’s jazz ensemble and assisted with the annual musical.  Rachel began her teaching career in Jefferson ISD where she was hired to restart the choir programs at both Jefferson JH and HS. She was named "Rookie teacher of the year" and the HS choir received the first sweepstakes in the choir's history while under her direction.

     In addition to teaching, Rachel enjoys performing and has made several appearances in local theatrical productions most recently as Sarah in the Artisan's Theatre production of Guys and Dolls and previously at the Firehouse Theatre as Irene Malloy in Hello Dolly, a headliner in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd and 4th Annual Firehouse Christmas Spectacular, Sister Margaretta and assistant music director for The Sound of Music and Hodel in Fiddler on the Roof.
