Hello! My name is Lauren Jackson, and I will be teaching Pre-AP Physics. This is my second year to teach at Collegiate Academy, and I am thrilled to be part of such an innovative and excellence-driven program. It is my belief that ALL students are capable of achieving academic success - it only takes two components: tenacity mingled with opportunity.
I graduated from West Texas A&M with a B.S. in Biology and a Neuroscience Certification. Before coming to Collegiate Academy, I taught science for two years in Irving where I practiced student focused instruction by prescribing an individualized data plan for each of my students. I have two wonderful little boys, a six year old superhero and a one year old bundle of energy! My husband is also a physics teacher. I love my sweet family, combat sports, Star Trek, and teaching.
Physics is the study of matter and energy and the interaction between them. This course requires students to examine carefully and describe every-day phenomena scientifically through the lenses of energy, forces, momentum, and motion. I look forward to a great year of exploring and applying Physics principles with my students. You'll never look at the world the same way again!
