I was born and raised right here in North Texas.  I lived just a little south of here in Hurst and attended L.D. Bell high school.  I played tight end and linebacker while at Bell.  I also competed in track, throwing the shot and disc.
After high school I had the opportunity to further my education and football playing career at McMurry University.  While at McMurry I majored in Multidisciplinary Studies II (that is fancy talk for an education major with two teaching fields).  My two teaching fields were history and biology.   I played tight end all four years and threw the shot and disc for one year.  I graduated from McMurry in December of 2000.
Since I finished my education, I have worked at a many schools across North Texas.  My first job was at Southlake Carroll teaching seventh grade Texas History.  After Southlake I moved north to Sherman where I coached football and baseball for two years.  Then it was on to Glen Rose for half of the school year.  I was only there for one semester because I had the once in a lifetime chance to coach football in Paris, France.  Yes, they do play football in France.  I was the offensive coordinator for the La Courenuve Flash.
Once back in the states I accepted a job at Ennis High School where I coached defensive ends and track.  I was fortunate to be apart of the 2004 4A state championship team. After Ennis I moved back to the metroplex got married and took my current job here at Grapevine High School.  This is my 16th year teaching. I have been at GHS for 12 years, the first 8 of those I coached almost all sports from football, golf, boys soccer, track and middle school basketball,  I am now thoroughly enjoying teaching Pre-AP Chem and Chem. I spend my free time with my family - my wife Melissa, son Kale & daughter Calla.
