    6th Grade Pre-AP Science & 6th Accelerated Science

     Miss Barbaro

Hello! My name is Daniela Barbaro and I am tremendously excited to join the GCISD family and teach 6th grade science at Cross Timbers this year!  I was born and raised in a small town in Southern California called Ridgecrest and I earned my bachelor's degree in Biology at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville (Go Vols!).

In my past adventures as an educator I have had the opportunity to teach middle school science for four years, high school biology and psychology for two years, and high school chemistry for one year.  I have enjoyed growing as a leader in education by presenting at four CAST conferences (Conference for the Advancement of Science Teaching), presenting at two Leader In Me Symposiums, and taking on the role of Secondary Science Curriculum Coordinator within my last school district.

I believe that education should provide students with the opportunity to explore the extremities of their minds, create genuine thoughts and ideas, and discover their passions. I will encourage, inspire, and facilitate this process in my classroom! Through our scientific studies I hope to awaken the “why” within my students and empower them to become independent, empathetic thinkers. I look forward to growing with your children this year and am delighted to be apart of the Wolf Pack!
