Kari Flory- Head Choir Director
Kari Flory is starting her third year of teaching as the Head Choir Director of Cross Timbers Middle School. Prior to teaching at Cross Timbers, Mrs. Flory was the assistant director at Kleb Intermediate School in Klein, Texas. While there she co-directed with Kelly McDonald. Mrs. Flory’s choirs received superior ratings at UIL and Solo and Ensemble Contests, as well as participating in various Festivals. She graduated with Honors from Texas Tech University, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and Vocal Performance. While at Tech, Mrs. Flory studied voice under Dr. Quinn Patrick Ankrum as her primary instructor, sang in a number of choirs, including Women's Chorale, University Choir, and worked as an Apprentice for the University Singers.
Her love of music has carried her across the world, participating in AIMS in Graz Lieder program as well as Music in the Marche Opera Program. She had the privilege of student teaching under the direction of Christina Chapman, Head Director of Willow Springs Middle School, and Cathy Koziatek, Head Director and General Music Teacher of Sloan Creek Intermediate School. She was also blessed to work with Katherine Hargrove, Head Director of Cavazos Middle School, during her practicum placement. She is thrilled to be at Cross Timbers Middle School for her third year as choir director. She resides in Colleyville, Texas with her husband, Carl, and her adorable goldendoodle pup, Roxy Sasha.
