 Congratulations to Christopher Mudd for placing 5th overall in the
Texas Geography Bee.  
Way to Go!! 
The community service "squad" here at HMS is currently collecting "Wish List" items for Ronald McDonald House of Fort Worth.  The RMHFW is a non-profit organizaiton that houses the families of children who are receiving medical treatment at area hospitals.  
The items on their wish list include:
K-Cups for Keurig Brewing Machine
Dry cereal
Individually wrapped snack foods
Disinfecting wipes
Disinfecting spray
Laundry detergent (prefer HE type)
The sixth period class who collects the most items will win an ice cream float and sundae party!
Please help us collect these items for local families in need.  
Deadline for collecting items has been extended to Thursday, May 1.

pasta for pennies  
HMS participated in Pasta for Pennies, a fundraising campaign benefiting the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. HMS students raised a total of $5,304.22.  The 4th period classes that won spaghetti dinners from Olive Garden were Mrs. Spencer's class and Mrs. Thompson's class.

Thank you to all the wonderful HMS families who donated 920 pounds of dog & cat food along with other items to help support the SPCA of North Texas.  The classroom winners are:  
1st Place: Mrs. Thompson's 6th period class with 179 lbs.  
2nd Place: Mrs. Ellsberry's 6th period class with 102 lbs.  
3rd Place Coach Pilgrim's 6th period class with 56 lbs.

unwrapped toys and gifts for infants, children, and teens.
