Teacher Biography:
I am currently in my nineteenth year of teaching and into my thirteenth year of teaching at Bransford Elementary.  I have taught sixteen years of fifth grade and two years in fourth (and one year in second grade with my student teaching).  My passion is teaching American History, Language Arts, and Reading, and feel as though this fifth grade assignment is the perfect spot for me.

   A)  GCISD Distinguished Teacher - selected by Katie Doody, one of CHHS Top 20 Students - May 2009

   C)  GCISD Staff Development Facilitator for "Guiding Learning" in the Linking Literacy Academy (2007 to the
         present)
   D)  A member of the faculty and staff named to the Texas Business & Education Coalition's Honor Roll for 2008,
         2009, & 2010 - Bransford Elementary (an award that recognizes schools that have demonstrated three years of
         high academic performance).
   E)  Recipient of the "Friends of Children" PTA Award - May 2008.
   F) Recipient of a "Commended Teacher of the Humanities" award for 2007-2008. This award recognizes exemplary
        K-12 Social Studies teachers in the state of Texas.
   G) Selected to be a presenter at the Renaissance Learning Symposium in Austin, TX (March 2007).  Presentation
        was on goal setting, motivational techniques for implementing AR into the classroom, and instructional lessons in
        Reading with projects and strategies to increase reading comprehension in students.
   H) National Honor Roll's Oustanding American Teachers (2005-2006) (nominated by Brianne Bracken - former
        student from Mesa Elementary 1998-1999)

   I) Recipient of "The Chancellor's List" (2005-2006) - the highest academic honor for graduate students.
