Grading Philosophy:
My  class should be enjoyable and non-threatening while giving students hands-on experiences and opportunities to explore the world of music.
Skills grades are based on effort and attitude.  I want to develop a life-long love of music.
Conduct grades start at an E.  Behavior issues such as, talking at inappropriate times, being distracting, not following directions and being disrespectful of myself or peers will result in the lower of the students grade.

Skills Grade:

E or Excellent = excels in grade level expectations
S or Satisfactory = working at grade level
N or Needs Improvement = performing below grade level expectations
U or Unsatisfactory = has been removed from activity due to distracting behavior

Students receive an E for particular skills by participating and performing well, following directions and putting forth excellent effort.

Conduct Grade:
E or Excellent
S or Satisfactory
N or Needs Improvement
U or Unsatisfactory

All students will start with an E for conduct.  I am assuming that every student at Bransford will come into our classroom with excellent behavior.  I will track the following areas and adjust the conduct grade appropriately: being respectful, following directions, allowing others to learn, talking at appropriate times, participation and hall behavior.
