    Welcome to 5th Grade!!
I am so excited about this new school year!

    School Experience:

I graduated from Burgess High school in El Paso, Texas in 1978 and I attended Texas Tech University from 1978-1980.  I transferred to the University of North Texas and completed my degree in 1981 with a BS Elementary Education and a minor in English.

    My Teaching Journey:

My first teaching job was at Hartman Elementary in Wylie, Texas, when I graduated from college.  I taught 3rd and 2nd grade in Wylie for 2 years before my husband was transferred to Austin.  We moved to Austin and I taught 1st grade at Smith Elementary in Del Valle, TX, for 1 year.  My husband was transferred back to the Dallas area and I was hired by Grapevine/Colleyville to teach First grade at Timberline Elementary. The next year,  I helped to open the then new  O.C. Taylor Elementary.  I taught 1st grade for 1 year until the birth of our first child, Heather.  I planned to take one year off and be a 'stay at home mom'.   Our son, Grant was born 2 years later and being a 'stay at home mom' lasted for 15 years!

When I returned to teaching, I taught 2nd grade at Cannon Elementary for 11 years and then moved to BES.  This will be my fourth year to teach at Bransford and my 20th year of teaching.  I taught 3rd grade for the 2 years and this will be my second year to teach 5th grade.
