Extra Credit Opportunity #1
Year-long extra credit:
World Discoveries: Students have selected a country based on the first letter of their last name. Anytime this country appears in the news, the student may bring that information via typed report, newspaper article, magazine article, interenet video, etc. to the class for credit. Information MUST be newsworthy and about the country - not a person, accident, illness , etc. in the country. Students must present the information to the class as class time permits. Simply handing in an article will not earn extra credit. Students may not read the article; they need to be prepared to present the information. Students may receive extra credit once per three weeks.
Texas Discoveries: Students have selected a Texas county or city at the beginning of the year based on the first letter of their last name. Anytime this county or city appears in the news, the student may bring that information via typed report, newspaper article, magazine article, interenet video, etc. to the class for credit. Information MUST be newsworthy and about the county or city - not a person, illness, accident, etc. in the county or city. Students must present the information to the class as class time permits. Simply handing in an article will not earn extra credit. Students may not read the article; they need to be prepared to present the information. Students may receive extra credit once per three weeks. Student's may receive extra credit once per three weeks.
Instructions: Attend one - attend them all...bring me a picture, see me there, or have your parent write you a note stating that you attended (NO emails) and earn extra credit! If you know of any other events that would educate us about our World, then let me know so I can post them here.
