• Monica Lopez
My name is Monica Lopez and I am a 2003 graduate of Dallas Baptist University.  I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Academics with a concentration in reading.  I am certified to teach Special Education EC-12, Reading 1-8, ESL EC-12, and grades 1-8.
I joined the Special Services team at Colleyville Elementary in 2006.  Prior to teaching Special Education, I taught second grade.  In addition to my love of teaching, I love spending time with my husband Ron, who teaches in Fort Worth ISD and at Tarrant County College, and my eighteen year old triplets who are seniors at CHHS.
I am honored and dedicated to continue advancing student growth academically, socially, and emotionally in an atmosphere that is stimulating and adaptive to the diverse needs of the students.  My philosophy on education transcends what is inside of a textbook; it is about building character, being supportive, providing inspiration, and enabling individuals to set and obtain goals.  As an educator, I feel my role is to provide a nurturing environment, make learning relevant, and differentiate instruction to best fit the needs of each student. It is truly my desire, as an educator, to make sure that I am motivating my students to reach their fullest potential inside and outside the classroom!
Communication is very important to me and I welcome you to call at any time with questions or concerns regarding your child. If you would like to schedule a conference, please do not hesitate to call or email me to set up a time to meet or conference by telephone.
