Located in the heart of one of the fastest growing areas of the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex, Heritage Elementary School opened in August 1991. Due to overcrowding of schools and rapid growth in the southern Grapevine and eastern Colleyville areas, Heritage became the seventh elementary school built in a district that now has eleven. Built on ten acres of land and named for the street on which it resides, award-winning Heritage Elementary School provides students with an excellent education and serves as a model for other schools in various districts throughout the United States.
Since completion in 1991, many improvements and additions have occurred. Student growth necessitated the addition of a wing of classrooms in 1993, and further expansion (library/media center) and renovation was completed in 2001. Heritage Elementary has a current enrollment of approximately 460 students in Kindergarten through 5th Grades.
