To parents and students in Mrs. Patterson's English III and IV classes:

If you see a "*" entered for a grade on Skyward Family Access, it means I have not yet graded and/or entered the assignment. This "*" DOES NOT mean the assignment is late. Additionally, an asterisk does not impact a student's average.

If you see a "1" entered for a grade on Skyward Family Access, it means I have no record of receiving this assignment and the grade is effectively a "0."

If you see a "2" entered for a grade on Skyward Family Access, it means the student was absent on the day the assignment was due or submitted. In this situation, the student has one day for each day he or she was absent, plus one additional day to submit his or her work for full credit.
