This is the outline that you will follow for your research paper.  The key to the paper is a good THESIS statement that summarizes all that you are going to say in your paper
   example- (if my paper is about the Shelby Cobra) The Shelby Cobra is one of the most influential cars in the history of                               American cars.
 
Intro-  a) Catch the readers' attention
            b) Introduce the topic
            c) State your thesis
 
      example- The thrill of flying down an open road with the top down is rivaled only by the thrill of being slammed into the back of your seat by 428 cubic inches of raw American muscle.  (catches attention)  The Shelby Cobra combined the fun of a British convertible with the thrill of American muscle, and thus reshaped the American automotive industry.  (introduces topic)  The Shelby Cobra is one of the most influential cars in the history of American cars.  (Thesis)
