Batik, Steffany - Social Studies Teacher / Digital Classroom

Grapvine-Colleyville Independent School District

I am excited to announce that I have been chosen along with 7 other teachers on this campus to become a digital classroom this school year. We will comprise a group of about 11 teachers on the Colleyville Heritage campus (there are 80 or so district-wide) who will have a classroom set of iPads and a set of roughly 8 MacBook Airs. In order to be selected to become a digital classroom, each teacher had to submit an application explaining how they would use these devices to enhance the learning in their classrooms. I have spent much time thinking and planning on what our digital classroom will look like and I am excited about the opportunities that having this technology will afford us. Some aspects of class will continue to look the way that they have for this course and some aspects will change as the district shifts to what is referred to as a Learning Platform. I will have more information about this process at the beginning of the school year and am looking forward to continuing to be on the cutting edge of education.
