NHRA YOUTH AND EDUCATION PROGRAMSEPTEMBER 21, 2012
Over 100 students from CHHS and GHS traveled to Ennis, Texas on Friday to the Texas Motorplex to attend the Youth and Education Services Career Day.
This was a career exploration field trip called the
NHRA YES (Youth and Education Services) PROGRAM
sponsored by the U.S. ARMY.
Students in Mrs.Wise's
Fashion Marketing Class
celebrated the end of the unit on Design Elements and Principles by designing dresses. The students were to include at least 3 different elements or principles as well as explain how these were used to enhance their dresses. The students look forward to working with actual fabric instead of tissue paper as they develop their fashion skills.

CHHS MOCK DECA COMPETITION
NOVEMBER 16, 201216 students from CHHS attending Mock DECA Competition on Friday at Northwood University in Cedar Hill. Deca is a club for marketing students and the event was to prepare students for district, state and National competition.
Austin Bailey and Richard Erickson were in the top 10 for testing.
The other students competed in role plays as well as testing.
GHS MOCK DECA COMPETITION
NOVEMBER 16, 2012The Mock DECA Competition at Northwood University was held on Friday November 16. Twenty students from Grapevine High School attended the competition.

Gingerbread House Competition
AUSTIN DARA ERIKA JORDAN NOAH SHANNON TONY VICTORIAThe Gaylord Texan held a Gingerbread House Competition
for the students during December. The students designed and
created their own gingerbread houses, each house had to be made
entirely of edible candy, gingerbread, decorations, and etc.
Jordan McHenry from CHHS was the winner, the students

The District 7 DECA CompetitionThe District 7 DECA Competition was held at Lone Star High School in Frisco, TX on Saturday, January 19. The following students were district winners and qualified for state competition:Seth Gillitzer- Business Services MarketingTony Quach- Principles of Hospitality and TourismThese students will be competing at the State DECA Competition in Corpus Christi, Tx February 28 - March 2.

GCISD Culinary Arts Students:
Shannon Walsh, Dara Lira, Tony Quach,
Austin Myers, and Noah Park
competed in the Texas Restaurants Annual Regional Prostart Culinary Competition. Students created a menu and recipes, cost out each menu item, and prepared an appetizer, entree, and dessert in 1 hour to present to area chef's for judging.
