At GCISD, we understand that each student is unique. We also understand that for many students, the standard school life just doesn't work. Maybe you're training for a special art program or sport, or perhaps you need to support your family and work during the day or maybe your family has been relocated and you still want a GCISD education...We get it.
Starting later this spring 2013, students across the state of Texas may apply for admission to GCISD's new virtual school. This program is a state-accredited, college prep academy in GCISD that will combine the flexibility of online instruction with the availability of face-to-face academic support from site-based, highly qualified teachers. This unique program will provide rigorous coursework in a flexible format, with the communications and assessments taking place online. While the district is still finalizing the official name of this new school, planning and development is well underway.
Real teachers, real education, your schedule. GCISD's virtual school will offer a 21st Century education for the 21st Century learner.
Details of the virtual school, including enrollment timelines and course offerings, will soon be finalized. Also coming soon will be the announcement of the official name for the virtual school.
