Megan Johnston, 3rd grade teacher

megan.johnston@gcisd.net

I first want to welcome you to our class and tell you how     excited I am to be your teacher! We are going to have a very electrifying year!  In third grade, we take the Reading and Math STAAR Test and it is very important that all of the students are practicing their reading and math daily. We also focus on advancing our writing skills, exploring our community, and investigating different aspects of science. I will be working with each student to improve their performance in these areas.

I am a Northeast Tarrant County native who grew up the fourth of 5 children. My education was at Texas Tech University where I graduated with honors in the college of      education. I had the opportunity to travel and study abroad during my college experience. I also taught swimming lessons throughout    college.  This is my fifth year at Glenhope Elementary this year and I am looking forward to this year and interacting with the students and parents. I have been the yearbook coordinator for the past two years and I am looking forward to creating the yearbook again this year. I was also Glenhope’s Teacher of the Year last year. I am very honored to be chosen by my colleagues and hope the kids will feel the same way.
