• SAFETY COMES FIRST!!!
Dress Code and Shoe Policy for P.E.
#1. Students need to wear tennis shoes EVERYDAY.
#2. It is preferred that shoes are double tied/knotted.

HELP!! DOUBLE TIE LACES EACH DAY!
**With all of the activity throughout the day, it is inevitable that shoes will come untied and that can be a danger for your child and others.  We have found that double tying laces each day before school can prevent a lot of accidents and wasted learning time in our classrooms--especially the gym and recess; where it is a definite safety issue.  THANK YOU!!

GCISD District policy requires all children wear TENNIS SHOES in physical education for their own safety.  TENNIS SHOES must have rubber scuff-proof soles. Sandals, heeled shoes, crocs, boots, cleated shoes, dress shoes, shoes with rollers, and slip-on shoes that can easily slip off are very dangerous for many activities that take place in the gym.  **Please encourage and remind your child to wear tennis shoes each day. This also ensures their safety at recess and on the playground equipment.  ***SEE VISUAL BELOW

****If your child does NOT wear tennis shoes on a particular day, PLEASE send tennis shoes in their backpack and remind them to put them on before specials.  It is the child's responsibility at this point, not the teacher's to remind them.

STUDENTS ALSO NEED TO WEAR SHORTS, PANTS OR LEGGINGS UNDER SKIRTS OR DRESSES.

Failure to wear the appropriate attire will result in a lowered grade.
