  • 7 students named 2017 National Merit Semifinalists

Seven Grapevine High School seniors have been named 2017 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Selection is based on the students' scores on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). GCISD's National Merit Semifinalists are part of an elite a group of students representing fewer than one percent of U.S. high school seniors who show exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies. These academically talented students have the opportunity to continue in the program and compete for scholarships that will be offered next spring. About 90 percent of the Semifinalists nationwide are expected to attain Finalist standing, according to the National Merit Scholarship Program, and more than half of the Finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship.

  • GHS Home to North Texas Golf Coach of the Year

Grapevine High School Golf Coach Bryan Humphreys was named the 2015-2016 North Texas High School Golf Coaches Association (NTHSGA) Coach of the Year.

“The Grapevine golf program is extremely proud of this award,” Humphreys said. “It’s about our program being recognized for our hard work and dedication over the years. Grapevine High School parents, teachers, the Grapevine golf course staff and community give us great support every season. We know we're extremely fortunate to have kids who want to grow to be better on and off the course. We look forward to continuing mentoring them for years to come.”

Under his leadership, both the GHS Boys and Girls Golf teams advanced to the state tournament last season. NTHSGA honored Humphrey’s for his dedication to his athletes and to the sport. As a coach, he has helped many students find individual and team success for their school and GCISD.

  • Be Aware: ACT/SAT study material solicitation

Please be advised that a third-party company has called some of our families in reference to ACT and SAT study materials -- the individual makes it seem as if they are working with or for Grapevine/Colleyville Heritage High School -- neither which are true. We are not sure how they received the contact information, as it is GCISD's policy to not disclose directory information to third-party vendors. In the event that you receive one of these calls, please notify the campus so we may monitor the situation.
