Dual Enrollment Information
 
 
Planning for 2015-16 
 
Step 1:  Are you a current sophomore or junior interested in taking a Dual course next year?  If so, you and a parent/guardian must attend one of two mandatory meetings offered on the following dates in order to begin the enrollment process and to ensure Dual is the right option for you.  *Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow time to sign in.
 
   Wednesday, February 11th at 6:30 p.m. (GHS Auditorium) 
 
   Tuesday, March 17th at 6:30 p.m. (CHHS Library) 
 
Make Up Dates (for any student who missed the meetings above)
 
         Friday, March 20th, at 8:00 a.m. or at the beginning of each student lunch       in the counseling office.  
      Monday, March 23rd, at 8:00 a.m. or the beginning of each student lunch       in the counseling office. 
       (Students will watch a required video that reviews the information on the    Power Point posted below.)
 
 
Step 2:  After attending the meeting, if you are still interested in taking a Dual course at GHS next year, the deadline to submit the green Dual Enrollment Commitment form is March 23rd.   Please submit to the Counseling Office.   
 
Step 3:  Attend the mandatory meeting on Wednesday, April 1st, at 9:00 a.m. in the GHS Auditorium.  You will complete your TCC Application and watch the Pre-Assessment Activity (PAA) for the TSI.  If you believe you are TSI exempt, you will print your scores that make you exempt at that time.  Be sure to bring your college board and/or ACT login information if you think you are exempt.  *Please see below for qualifying exemption scores.
 
 
Summer 2015 Dual Classes at TCC-
 
Current Juniors planning to take a Dual Credit course at TCC this summer (2015) must apply to TCC and complete required TSI testing (if not TSI exempt) by April 15th. Registration for Summer courses begins on April 15th.  It is the student's responsibility to turn in the proper paperwork to TCC, register for their courses, and make payment for their courses in a timely manner.  Questions about registering for summer courses should be directed to the Registrar's Office at the TCC campus location the student plans to attend.  (TCC Registrar's Office-817-515-4734)
 
Students will need to provide the TCC Registrar with an official high school transcript, test scores, and immunization records if taking the Dual Credit course on the TCC campus.  If taking the Dual Credit course online, the student must successfully complete the Online Readiness Assessment 24hrs prior to registering for the course.  The link for the Online Readiness is https://tccd-1035.readi.info/login. 
 
To be exempt from taking the TSI, students must be able to show TCC the following minimum qualifying SAT or ACT scores:
 
SAT-
   Critical Reading-  minimum 500 
   Math-                   minimum 500 
   Combined-          1070
 
ACT-
   English-              minimum 19 
   Math-                  minimum 19 
   Composite-           23 
 
PSAT-                       50 ELA, 50 Math, & 107 Composite score  
(PSAT scores can only be used toward TSI exemption for students who will be taking a Dual Credit class their Junior year) 
 
TCC Summer Sessions are scheduled for:
 
Session 1: June 1-July 9
Session 2: July 13-August 20  
(*The 2nd session works best for GHS students since GHS classes are still in session when TCC's Session 1 begins.)
