    BELIEF STATEMENTS

    1. We believe that gifted and talented students require a differentiated curriculum and a variety of program options to meet their unique intellectual, social, and emotional needs.
    2. We believe that gifted and talented students can best reach their full potential when given the opportunity to work with their intellectual peers in situations where they can be appropriately challenged and paced.
    3. We believe that nontraditional methods must be employed to seek out every qualified student.
    4. We believe that well trained, qualified educators are essential to the success of an exemplary gifted and talented program.
    5. We believe that gifted and talented students needs are best met through the collaboration and interaction of students, educators, family, and community.
    6. We believe that the contributions of gifted and talented students are vital to our future.
Instructional considerations for advanced students are:
    • Students are provided with a variety of options in order to meet their needs
    • It is the expectation that all classrooms differentiate for diverse learners
    • Instruction is interactive, engaging, student centered, challenging, advanced, and presented in a risk-free environment.
