This is my 17th year teaching special education, my 7th year with Heritage Elementary and my 14th year with Grapevine-Colleyville ISD. I have a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Science and Health and a Bachelor of Science in Communications from the University of Utah.
My husband, John, and I have been married 26 years and we have three daughters. I am from Houston and John is from New York. We have lived in Washington, DC, Houston, and Southlake. John has been in the broadcast news industry for over 35 years and is currently working in the communications department with Fort Worth ISD. Our oldest, Lindsey, is 24 years-old, and a Texas Christian University graduate. She is currently teaching Art Education in Dallas. Larkin, 22 years-old, is a Senior at Princeton University in New Jersey. Sloane, our youngest, is 19 years-old and a Sophomore at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire.
My family enjoys traveling to visit our extended family in Houston and their farm in Sealy, skiing in Utah and watching movies. Much of our extracurricular time involves traveling to diving meets for college diving.
I tend to be driven by the life philosophy of "Where there is a will, there is a way!". One of my favorite animals is the leafy seadragon because it reminds me that no matter what our circumstances, we will find a way to adapt in order to become successful. It also reminds me that a successful adaptation may look very different from what we would typically expect.
I look forward to an exciting and engaging year. If you need to reach me, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, or through the front office at 817-305-4820.
