• Things We Will Learn

The Heritage Learning Commons will operate on a Flexible Schedule.  This ensures that students and classes will be able to visit the library as often as needed for new reading material or for class projects and activities.

Some of the topics students will learn include...

    • how to properly care for books

    • listening  and comprehension skills by hearing books read aloud

    • how to choose books at an appropriate reading or listening level

    • how materials are arranged in the library

    • how to independently use the online catalog and find books on the shelf

    • how to utilize online and print resources effectively and efficiently

    • how to implement research skills using a variety of methods including the Big6 Model*

    • how to be responsible digital citizens

    • how to cite sources used for research and other projects
