Our Kindergarten Schedule
We are learning…
7:40 – 7:55
Students talk together as a class and discuss issues that may arise in the classroom or in their lives. We also discuss feelings and goals during Circle Up.
8:00 – 9:10
Students work individually or with a partner to complete math tasks. These tasks are generally review tasks. They are highly engaging so the students LOVE THEM! The teacher will be providing individual instruction or small group instruction.
9:10 – 9:30
We learn math and language skills in context of our calendar. We build our oral language, phonics, and phonemic awareness.
This is an interactive reading activity where students join in or share the reading of a poem, book, or other text.
9:30 – 10:45
This is a chance for the teacher to pull small reading groups and to provide reading instruction at each student’s individual level. The students not meeting with the teacher will be practicing literacy skills individually or with a partner.
