• Who are we?

The GCISD Elementary Honor Choir is an auditioned ensemble of 4th and 5th grade students from all 11 elementary schools in GCISD. We rehearse on Tuesdays during the Spring semester in the Grapevine High School choir room from 5:00 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. Students have the opportunity to sing challenging repertoire, make new friends from across the district, learn from GCISD choir faculty, and perform at a concert and choir festival. Students must participate in their campus choir to be eligible to audition for the honor choir.

    How do I audition?

Auditions for the choir are November 3rd and 6th at each elementary campus. Your music teacher will send home a flyer to fill out and return. If you need to print a flyer, click here. Touch "Honor Choir Auditions" on the right to practice for your audition!

Will there be social opportunities with the choir?

Social events are being planned to encourage the choir members to create lasting friendships across the district.

    What will the choir wear?

Black pants, black sneakers, and a GCISD Elementary Honor Choir t-shirt.

What does being in the choir cost?

There is a fee to cover a t-shirt and sheet music. We plan to attend a festival in the spring that will require a fee. Social events may have a small cost as well. No student will be excluded from the GCISD Honor Choir or any related event for financial reasons.
