What is a Literacy Interventionist?
A Literacy Intervention Specialist is a teacher who works with students needing extra support with literacy. Specifically, I teach students with dyslexia using a multisensory approach to learning strategies that will assist them in reading, writing, and spelling. In addition, I work with students in small literacy groups in the various grades levels.
I graduated from Southwest Texas State University (now, Texas State). I taught as a classroom teacher in First, Third, Fourth and Fifth grades. I have been a dyslexia specialist for 8 years. This is my third year in Grapevine- Colleyville ISD. My goal is to guide learners to see their true gifts. I will also help them unlock the English language.About Me:
I am married and we have three beautiful children(Ellie, Annie and Nolan). When I’m not at school, we enjoy spending time with our family and friends. Some of our favorite things: playing outside, listening to music, enjoying festivals and watching sports.
