Planning Period- 9:55-10:45
My name is Samantha Dykgraaf, I am thrilled to be joining the GES family as a second grade teacher. I grew up in Grapevine, and attended GCISD schools K-12. I did my student teaching at Bransford Elementary, and after I graduated from Tarleton State University (Go Texans), I knew I wanted to come back and teach in this fabulous district. My favorite quote is “By doing what you love, you inspire and awaken the hearts of others”. I love teaching, and knew from a young age I wanted to become a teacher. While in college I worked in child care and volunteered in schools. I have a passion for helping students see the growth they can achieve and also having them see their worth. Every student I’ve worked with has touched my heart and shaped the teacher I have become. While in college I worked with students from Pre-Kindergarten to 5th grade. My other passion in life is volunteering. My favorite place to volunteer is in South Padre at Sea Turtle Inc. I spend my free time outdoors. I enjoy hiking, kayaking, reading and playing with my border collie. This will be my first year teaching, and I can't wait to meet my students and start my journey as a Grapevine Elementary Star.
