    Welcome to GCISD, and thank you for your interest in being a substitute for our district! Once you have decided to apply for the position, click the link on our Substitute or Employment page to complete the application.

    Once you have submitted your application, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to take the Teacher Insight Survey. You will need to complete this assessment before moving forward. There is a minimum score that you must meet or exceed.

    In order to qualify to sub for a teacher in GCISD, you must have 60 or more completed college hours. Substitute Aids do not have to meet this requirement.

    We also require that at least two of your (professions) references have responded favorably to the auto generated email which they will receive once you submit your application.

    Once everything is in order, you will be contacted via e-mail with an invitation to attend a brief interview with a member of the HR team.

    Following the interview, if a determination is made to move forward, you will be contacted (via e-mail) with orientation dates and instructions regarding the fingerprinting process which is a requirement for all public school employees. This is done through the Texas Education Agency. There is a fee for fingerprinting which the applicant is responsible for. If you have already been fingerprinted, we will be notified by TEA that your prints are complete.

    We do not contact applicants unless they meet all of the above criteria.
