  • Special Session of Residency Verification for Families of Multiple Students

     GCISD will be hosting a three day Residency Verification July 21-23, where families can go to a central location and have their residency verified for all children in the family.  If your family has children in different schools, they will be able to check the residency for all of the schools in this central location. We are hoping this will streamline and be a convenience for our parents.

  • Freshmen Orientation Sign-Up

     Freshmen Orientation is free and will take place on August 11th in Gym 1 from 9:00 am-2:00 pm! It is not mandatory to attend but highly recommended.  Incoming freshmen will learn important things about navigating their first year of high school, will start building their new identity as a CHHS Panther, and can win one of many door prizes!

    Orientation is for students only and lunch will be provided or students may bring their own lunch.

  • Underclassmen Transcript Requests

     Underclassmen transcript requests: 9th-11th graders can begin requesting a copy of their final 2015 transcript, if necessary, on June 22nd. All transcript requests received by Tuesday, June 23rd by midnight will be available for pickup on Thursday, June 25th from 2-4pm in the front office. Students in the top 10% will automatically be mailed a copy of their transcript with certification of rank. The GPA cutoff for the top 10% will be posted on the counseling website starting June 22nd.

  • CHHS Panther Cheer Camp Awards

    The 2015-2016 Panther Cheerleaders attended Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) Summer Camp at Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, Texas on June 7-10, 2015. The squad brought home a variety of awards and honors from the camp, as well as learned new cheers, chants, and dances for the upcoming year.

  • Dual Classes Information

    ***Dual Classes please remember to check the Counseling Website for Updates.***
    AP Physics C E/M (3rd and 7th) will be offered only at GHS and is double blocked. The required AP Physics C class is offered 1st, 2nd, or 8th. They must be taken concurrently. Your counselor will have to put both classes in for you. Please leave those classes blank and fill out the ARENA scheduling report to let your counselor know.

  • Secondary Summer School Catalog
     
    The secondary summer school catalog will be available on the district website beginning on March 23rd.  Registration for secondary summer school will open on March 23rd.  Secondary summer school will take place at GHS.  1st session is June 15 - 26.  2nd session is June 29 - July 10th.

  • STAAR Testing Lunch Orders

    When students test for STAAR on March 30th and April 1st, they have the opportunity to either bring their lunch OR they may order lunch through our school food service by charging it to their school accounts.  If your child is interested in ordering lunch to be delivered to their testing room, please click the link below.  All information is secure and can only be seen by the food service personnel.

  • STAAR End of Course Testing Late Start Days

    There will be a late start at CHHS on the following dates due to STAAR (State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness) End of Course testing.  Students that are testing will report to school at the normal start times.  Students not testing are asked to report to school at 11:45 am.  The schedule of tests is below:


    March 30 --English I for all 9th graders and retesters

    April 1--English II for all 10th graders and retesters

    May 5--US History for all 11th graders and retesters 

        Biology for 9th graders in Biology and retesters

    May 6--Algebra I for 9th graders in Algebra and retesters

  • SAT & ACT Camps

  • Arena Scheduling

    After students have inputted their course selections by the Feb. 16 window (see above), students will schedule their courses for the 2015-2016 school year during their grade-level time window. (After course selection occurs,students with schedule errors or concerns may only submit one change request form online during the following adjustment windows: Window 1: June 8-12; and Window 2: August 3-6.) The online scheduling windows below open at 7:30 a.m. and close at midnight.  See this website for the Arena Scheduling timeline: http://www.gcisd-k12.org/arena.   • Course Selections
     
    It’s time to plan your classes for next year. All students will receive classroom guidance from counselors on course selection for 2015-2016. (Counselors will visit 8th graders at middle schools Feb. 9-13.) Students have through Monday, Feb. 16 to input their course requests and electives online (similar to last year).

    No changes to requests will be accepted after the Feb. 16 deadline.

  • Dual Meeting

     Students interested in Dual Credit classes for next year must attend one mandatory informational meeting with a TCC representative. (Dual classes are taught at CHHS by a TCC instructor and count as high school AND college credit.) Qualifications to enroll include GPA, attendance, work ethic, and test scores. Students and parents can attend any of the three meetings listed below. An attendance record will be kept of who attends the meetings. Look for more information on CHHS website soon: http://www.gcisd-k12.org/Page/26625. The three possible meeting dates are:
    • 1st chance: Parent University at CHHS at 7p.m. Monday, Feb. 9;

  • 2015-2016 Dual Classes
