Prior to working for the Grapevine-Colleyville ISD, I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree in history and gradated cum laude.
I have taught AP World History for the past 9 years.
Teaching Philosophy:
I place a high value on excellence and I believe that every student should be challenged to strive for his or her personal best.  The study of History and World Geography provides a tremendous opportunity to connect our young people to their world.  It is my goal to bring understanding of our complex world into terms that the students can understand, while at the same time encouraging them to use their own knowledge to form their own conclusions.  I am an active and interactive educator who strives to give each student one-on-one attention whenever possible.

Your child’s achievement is important to me because I measure myself by their success.  I truly believe that each child is valuable and capable of succeeding if given the right opportunity to excel.

Professional Development
As a professional educator, I believe that it is very important to continue to grow in knowledge and skills.  Over the last 10 years, I accumulated over 120 hours of G/T training, 400 hours of AP training at the College Board Summer Academy® at Texas Christian University and University of Texas at Dallas, and over 300 hours of training in the areas of Multiple Intelligences, Work Styles, and Gifted and Talented education.  I enjoy bringing fresh ideas into my classroom so that I can reach each student more effectively.

My husband, children, and I moved to the great state of Texas in 1997 from Kenosha Wisconsin.  When asked about how I like Texas summers I always reply that I will take 100º summers over  –40º winters anytime!!  I am the mother of three young adults.  My oldest daughter graduated from CHHS in 2010.  She has finished her dental assistant certification and was married in April 2014.  My youngest daughter graduated from CHHS in 2012 and is graduating from Texas A&M this December with a B.A in Civil Engineering.  She will begin her masters program in Structural Engineering in January of 2017.  My son graduated from Texas A&M University in May of 2013 (Yay!!!) with a degree in Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Health Engineering.  He is now working in Houston at M.D. Anderson Cancer Hospital as a Radiological Safety Engineer and working on his Masters Degree in Medical Physics.
