Dear Students, Parents and Visitors,

 

Herzlich Willkommen!  To give you a little of my background, I have divided the following page into several segments that will include both my professional and personal experience.

 

1)  Education- I attendend Texas Tech University on an academic scholarship.  I majored in both German and history.  Additionally, I attended the College of Education to earn my certification to teach both German and social studies.  I graduated Cum Laude in May 2004.

 

While at Tech, I served as vice-president of the Geman Honor Society, Delta Phi Alpha, as well as president of the German Club.  I also had the opportunity to study for the summer of 2002 in Germany through scholarships from the Honors College and Foreign Language Department.  The Texas Tech German Club also spent two consecutive spring breaks in an area outside of Dresden, Germany to provide flood relief after a horrible flood in August 2002.  In addition to that, I also worked as a sports reporter, columnist and editor at the campus newspaper.

 

2)  Professional Experience- After college, I went to Germany again.  This time, I spent the academic year of 2004-2005 teaching English to German high schoolers as part of the Fulbright Scholarship program.  Upon returning from overseas, I moved to Tampa, Florida and spent some time in various other non-educational occupations.  From early 2007 until July 2008, I worked as the Director of Education at a Sylvan Learning Center in Tampa before moving to the metroplex.

 

The 2008-2009 academic year was my first at Colleyville Heritage High School.  And, I can assure you that it will not be my last!

 

3) Personal Life-  My personal life can be divided into three general compartments:  First, I am devoted wholeheartedly to the love of my life, my wife Melinda.  We married on August 2, 2008 and haven't looked back since!

 

 

Second, I am a diehard fan of my Texas Tech Red Raiders.  College sports, football especially, are among my favorite pasttimes.  Wreck 'em, Tech!

 

 

Last but certainly not least, I am a huge fan of all things Disney.  Whether it be Disney theme parks, Disney films, Disney music or Disney history, I am interested in it.  As a result, if you are planning a Disney vacation any time in the near future, please let me know, and I'll be glad to help!  Oh, and I can help with German and social studies questions, too!
