Home Work |
English All the the students are assigned to read for 20 minutes each night. Students are encouraged to choose books that are not too easy and not too hard. To determine how hard a book is have you child read a page to you. If the student struggles on more than three words per page it might be too difficult. The perfect book is one that the student doesn't know all the words but almost all the words. Spelling home work will be on-line at www.spellingcity.com Information about the spelling home work has sent home in hard copy form, contact me for a new copy if you need one. Science and Social Studies: Students can tell you what they learned, look up items of interested on the Internet or watch shows about science and history. Social Skills and Occupational Prep: Each student should help cook for their family. Recipes that have been practiced in class will be sent home from time to time and your child should be able to make those dishes for themselves or others. I would like to encourage you to require your child to make their own lunch. Cleaning at home is also an expectation. We have focused on sweeping, watering plants, wiping down surfaces and washing dishes. Students should be doing these things at home as well.
