Beginners

Time Frame:  6 class days, or until 1st rehearsal

 Learning Objective:

TEK #:             Student Expectation:

 6.1                               The student analyzes musical sound and demonstrates musical artistry.

 (B)                               The student is expected to describe in detail music notation using standard terminology.

 6.2                              The student plays an instrument, individually and in groups, performing a varied repertoire of                                     music.

 (A)                              The student is expected to perform independently, with accurate intonation and rhythm, demonstrating fundamental skills and basic performance techniques.

 6.3                              The student reads and writes music notation.

 (A)                              The student is expected to sight-read music in treble and/or clefs in various keys and meters.

 (C)                               The student is expected to interpret music symbols and terms referring to dynamics, tempo, and                                     articulation when performing.

 

 I Can: 

I can interpret rhythmic and musical notation within my contest music. 

 I Will:

I will practice performing my contest music with 90% rhythmic and notation accuracy. 

Anchor Activities:

 

  •   warm ups - individualized by class
  •  Region 24 scales
  •  Suncatcher
  • Albany Fanfare
  • Heritage Days

 

 

 Differentiation:

Try to get ALL of the Region 24 scales passed off with stickers.  

 

 Homework: 

Exam Music, and scales 

 
Thursday ONLY - 1st period will go to the practice rooms for Smart Music assignment completion due to STAAR testing surrounding our classroom
