Nancy Coplen
Nancy Coplen was re-elected to the GCISD Board of Trustees in May of 2007. She has been an active community volunteer for 18 years in the Grapevine-Colleyville area.

Her involvement within the district includes the Parent Advisory Committee, District Improvement Plan, Principal Selection Committee, Diversity Advisory Council, Fine Arts Advisory Committee, Partners in Education Committee and the Attendance Area Revision Committee.

Nancy served as president of the Colleyville Heritage PTSA for two years, and on the Heritage Middle School PTA, where she was developer and designer of the outdoor classroom for eight years, the Grapevine High School PTSA as Environmental Services chairperson, and GCISD Council of PTAs as first vice president and secretary. Nancy holds an Extended Life Membership with the Texas PTA, and has been a member of the GCISD Band Boosters for 10 years. She is past president of Grapevine High Cheerleader Booster Club, and a past member of the CEC at Colleyville Heritage High School, the GHS & CHHS Athletics Boosters. She received the Partners in Education Texas State Adult Volunteer for 2005.

Within the community, Nancy has been involved for 20 years with the Boy Scouts of America. She is a member of the Colleyville Woman’s Club, Grapevine Chamber of Commerce - Women's Division, Grapevine Historical Society and Colleyville Chamber of Commerce. She serves as an advisory member of the Colleyville Chamber, and the Colleyville Library Board. In addition to coaching youth basketball and tennis, Nancy is past president of children and youth groups at her church.

Nancy graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 1977 with a bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture and Environmental Design. While in college, she played NCAA Division II women's tennis, was president of Scarab and on the university's student council. She has been a draftsman for Pac Bell, Georgia Tech and various companies. Other jobs include tennis coach for Morro Bay High, Morro Bay, California; Tennis America and ALTA Youth coach, Atlanta, Georgia; freelance landscape designer and small business owner; certified basketball referee for high schools in California; and substitute teacher for three years in GCISD.

Nancy and her husband, Phil, have five children all graduates of GCISD and two grandchildren.


Lisa Hall
Lisa Hall was elected to the GCISD Board of Trustees in May 2004. She has lived in Northeast Tarrant County 38 years with 15 of those years being in Colleyville.

Lisa has been an active volunteer in both the community and school district. She has volunteered at Bransford Elementary for eight years, serving as PTA president for two years, vice president of Fundraising, Health and Safety, chairman of the Campus Excellence Committee, reading tutor and many other areas. She is currently on the Colleyville Middle School PTA Board, beginning her second year as second vice president –Ways & Means. She is also a member of both the Athletic and Choir Booster clubs. She was the recipient of the Life Time Member Award for PTA and the Hero of Children Award for District 11 awarded by the Texas Department of Education in Austin.

Within the community, Lisa serves as a director of the Grapevine Colleyville Education Foundation and as a member of the National Charity League. Her past involvement includes Meals on Wheels, Girl Scout Leader and Youth Sunday School Teacher.

Lisa attended Tarrant County College and University of Texas in Arlington. She was employed in the legal field for 12 years prior to becoming a full time homemaker and volunteer.

Lisa and her husband, Tom, have two children and live in Colleyville.

Jesse G. Rodríguez
Jesse G. Rodríguez was elected to the board in May 2002. A resident of Grapevine-Colleyville for 14 years, Rodríguez has been active in the district and community, serving on the board of directors of the Grapevine-Colleyville Education Foundation, member of the Glenhope Campus Excellence Committee, president of the Glenhope Dads Club, and a member of the Glenhope PTA Executive Board. He has also served as a member on the district's Budget Review Stakeholder Committee.

Rodríguez is a member of the Colleyville Chamber of Commerce, the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce, and a director on ARTSNET, formally known as the Arts Council of North East Tarrant County. He is a member of the 2004 Leadership Class of the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB).

Rodríguez earned a bachelor's degree in History and Political Science and a master's degree in School Administration from Texas A&I in Kingsville, where he also received his mid-management and superintendent's certification. His work experience includes high school history and government teacher, school administrator, owner and director of an area private preschool and manager of sales for several major publishing, technology and assessment companies. Currently, Rodríguez is the Southern Regional Vice President for Business Development with the Peoples Publishing Group.

He and his wife, Joanne, have two sons and live in Colleyville.


Vince Rosen

Vince Rosen was elected to the GCISD Board of Trustees in May 2005. He has been an active supporter of the City of Colleyville, as well as educational and athletic efforts to support the children in the Grapevine-Colleyville area since moving to Texas in 1997.

Vince has been an active volunteer in both the community and the school district, most recently serving as the GDISD Council of PTAs President for the past two years. He is a board member of the GCISD Education Foundation and the Foundation's Golf Committee. He volunteered his time to actively serve on the GCISD Bond Committee in 2004-2005. He has volunteered at Bransford Elementary for seven years, serving as the PTA Treasurer, Carnival Chair, Parliamentarian, and 5th grade coordinator. He has also served as the Colleyville Middle School 6th Grade Coordinator and is a member of the Athletic and Band Booster clubs. He has actively participated in coaching both his sons in baseball and basketball and other community sports activities. He recently received the Texas PTA Lifetime Member Award. Vince earned his Eagle Scout award at the age of 13.

Vince currently serves at the 5th grade coordinator at Bransford Elementary and the 7th grade coordinator at Colleyville Middle. He is actively involved in the Children’s Ministry at Fellowship Church in Grapevine and serves as a board member for the Lakes of Somerset Homeowners Association. He is serving his 3rd term on the Colleyville Parks and Recreation Board.

Vince and his wife, Debbie, moved to Colleyville from Atlanta, Georgia in 1997 with their two children, Max and Jason, who are actively involved in the Grapevine-Colleyville School District. He was employed in the technology field for 28 years prior to becoming a full time volunteer.


Vicki Thomas
Vicki Thomas was first elected to the GCISD Board of Trustees in May of 2003 and re-elected for a second term in May of 2006. Vicki has been a resident of the Grapevine-Colleyville area for more than 17 years.  She has been an active school and community volunteer. She has served in various roles on both the PTA executive boards of Grapevine Elementary and Heritage Middle schools, as well as a member on CHHS and CMS PTA. Vicki has served on the Campus Excellence Committee for Grapevine Elementary and as a parent representative for the District Excellence Committee. Vicki also served 3 years as the Grapevine Parks and Recreation GCISD liaison for 3 years.

Vicki is Group Manager of Intel Engineering & Services for PepsiCo Business Solutions Group’s Global Technology and Architecture team since October of 2005. She has worked in information technology for over 18 years. Her job responsibilities include the Intel Infrastructure for Pepsi Cola, Frito-Lay, Quaker, Tropicana, Gatorade, and Pepsi International.  Her previous experience includes Technical Services Manager for a global risk management company and various roles with IT outsourcers Affiliated Computer Services (ACS) and Electronic Data Systems (EDS).

Vicki earned her bachelor's degree in Communications from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1988. Thomas' business affiliations include the Society of Information Management, where she was a member of the board, having served as secretary and program chair. She also served on the board of trustees for the Creative Learning Center for 3 years, a preschool program at First United Methodist Church of Grapevine.

Vicki is actively involved with both her daughter’s extracurricular activities, All-Star Cheerleading and Competitive Select Soccer, where she and her husband are the team managers for their daughter’s soccer team, Dallas Sting ‘94 Royal.

She and her husband of 19 years, Bob, live in Colleyville.  They have two daughters; Katy is a student at CHHS and Brittney is a student at CMS.


Freda Ward
Freda Ward has been a resident of Colleyville for 24 years and has been involved in community/school organizations in the Grapevine-Colleyville area.

Ward currently works for a division of the McGraw-Hill companies. Her business experience has included consulting with school districts throughout Texas for over eleven years to develop business partnerships.  Past work experience includes her employment as an educational consultant of industrial tech and family consumer science labs with Paxton-Patterson and manager of Business Development and Regional Manager with ARAMARK Education Resources. She has a BBA degree in Marketing from Texas A&M University. In addition, she earned her State of Texas teacher certification while teaching in Lewisville ISD.

An active member of many organizations, Ward's work with the district has included participation in the Citizen's Advisory Committee, Community Education Advisory Board, Technology Committee, Budget Review Committee, District Excellence Committee and a member of the Board of Directors of the GCISD Education Foundation.

Ward is president of the 2008 Colleyville Heritage High School Project Graduation. She served as president of the GCISD Council of PTAs during the 2001-02, president of O.C. Taylor PTA, in various positions on the CHHS PTSA and CMS PTA boards and as a charter member of the GCISD Early Childhood PTA.  As a Certified Texas PTA Leadership Trainer, Ward is able to contribute to PTAs throughout GCISD.  She is a member of the Oklahoma Publisher's Association.

Her past community involvement includes the Colleyville Area Chamber of Commerce, the National Charity League as Special Olympics Chairman, a driver for Meals on Wheels, American Heart Association's Gala Committee and the Brookhaven Parent-Child Study Center Advisory Board.

Ward's past business affiliations include the Dallas School District Business Consortium, North Texas Career and Technology Association, HEB Women's Business Alliance, the National School Age Child Care Association and the National Association of the Education of Young Child.

She and her husband, Randy, have two children and live in Colleyville.


Charlie Warner
Charlie was elected to the board in May 2002, and was re-elected twice.  Once in May of 2003 and again in May of 2006.
 
Warner earned a Master's Degree in Industrial Administration from the University of Dallas and a Bachelor's of Business Administration degree from the University of Iowa.
 
Warner is Regional Vice President for Seiko Corporation of America, and has been with Seiko since 1981 in various sales and administrative related positions.  Other work experience includes nine years at AON, where he worked in human resources, administration and sales.
 
An active member of the Grapevine/Colleyville community for many years, he has been a member of the Colleyville Elementary PTA, CTMS PTA, GHS PTSA, GHS Booster Club and volunteer/sponsor of GHS Project Graduation.
 
Warner has been a coach of soccer, baseball and basketball for over thirty years and has served as Commissioner of the Trophy Club Soccer Club and President of the Trophy Club Youth Sports Association.
 
He and his wife, Cindy, have lived in Colleyville for the past thirteen years.  They have four children; Mark and Clint are both graduates of GHS and UT; Clay and Paige are both students at GHS.
