KCAN
All fifth graders at Cannon have the opportunity to participate in KCAN, the Cannon Elementary morning news show. Monday through Thursday mornings we broadcast a student-produced show with two to four on-camera anchors...
- two announcers who share the day's announcements, discuss upcoming important reminders of events for Cannon Cubs, and tell the students what's for lunch.
- a meteorologist who lets CAN know what the weather looks like for the upcoming days as well as information about weather related events.
- an announcer who share a STEM related fact.
Students also do the behind the scenes work. There are five off camera positions...
- one camera person who sets up the cameras and plans the shots
- a cue card person who runs our computer teleprompter
- a director who is in charge of cueing the anchors while switching who video feeds with each new shot
- an equipment manager who monitors the audio levels and runs the intro movie, moment of silence slide shows, and other special slide shows
In addition to the regular program, we sometimes have other special features that involve all students in the school.
We look forward to training forth grade students in the spring semester!
