EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

BA from East Texas State University with a double major in Elementary Education (K - 8) and Elementary Counseling
MA from North Texas State University in Secondary Counseling with a minor in Special Education
Classroom teacher for 9 1/2 years in Middle School in the Irving ISD
Elementary Counselor for 10 1/2 years in the Irving ISD

Counselor at Colleyville Elementary for 13 years

CLASSROOM GUIDANCE:

Colleyville Elementary will continue to participate in the Rachel's Challenge program for elementary. As a part of this program, the counselor will be teaching five lessons in grades K - 5. Topics of the program include:

Influence
Goals and Dreams
Compassion and Journaling
Acceptance
Kindness

Topics other than Rachel's Challenge are related to the district character trait program, Project Wisdom.

Grades 3 - 5 are taught the Life Skills Curriculum in the Fall.

Fifth graders have lessons related to middle school in the Spring.
