Nominated by their teachers for outstanding character and academic performance these 4 students were honored at the November Colleyville Chamber of Commerce Luncheon. Congratulations to Mina McCure, Lyon Lee, Olivia Welch and Jonathan Hearn. Teacher recognized for their dedication was Mr. Watford.

Red Ribbon Week @ CMS
Red Ribbon Week is celebrated every year the last full week of October. It is a nationally recognized substance abuse prevention campaign dedicated to the memory of Enrique (Kiki) Camarena, a Drug Enforcement Administration agent killed in the line of duty. CMS students and faculty celebrated Red Ribbon Week last week. Thanks goes to the CMS PALS for organizing all Red Ribbon Week activities. CMS won the secondary indoor and campus exterior decorating contests in the district. This year's theme chosen by the CMS PALS was "Life is a Journey! Travel Drug Free!"

CMS Students Support MAAgic Flight
The Colleyville Middle School PALS and Teen Leadership went to the DFW airport to cheer on kids participating in American Airlines’ MAAgic Flight program. This program is an opportunity for terminally ill children to visit Orlando, Florida, where they will stay in the Give the Kids the World Village, which is made up of villas specifically designed to accommodate all medical needs. For the CMS students,it was a chance to apply the leadership skills they have been learning in a classroom in a real world environment, and for the children, it was a moment for them to feel like the most special person in the world. Congratulations to Tine Valencic, Winner of National Geography Bee

Congratulations to Colleyville Middle School 7th grader Tine Valencic for winning the top spot in the National Geographic Bee today in Washington, D.C.! Valencic has won the Texas National Geographic Bee two times, including last year when he placed 13th nationwide. As the national winner, he will receive a $25,000 college scholarship AND a trip to the Galapagos Islands. Congratulations, Tine!
